One of the most heartwarming stories that swarmed the Internet recently is the one of a 7-year-old boy whose unique bravery and creative mind is helping his sick best friend tackle a deadly disease. The now 7-year-old boy named Dylan Siegel wrote a special children’s book titled “Chocolate Bar” which is a term meaning “awesome” to help out the family of his best friend Jonah Pournazarian.

Jonah suffers from an extremely rare condition called glycogen storage disease (GSD). His condition causes his blood sugar to constantly drop to dangerous levels. The young 8-year-old boy needs constant supervision and receives his food from a tube directly attached to his stomach. Although there is no known cure for the disease the researchers from laboratory in Gainesville are on the verge of discovering a new experimental medicine. All the funds raised by selling “Chocolate Bar” are going for medical research.

Hopefully very soon Jonah will also have a new and more effective feeding equipment that does not require him to be hooked up to a tube every few hours.
