Antonio Banderas just shared his very first fashion line with the rest of the world and it’s definitely caught the media’s attention.
The 55 year old Banderas is known for many things. His voice graces the famous Puss in Boots, he’s the face of the legendary Zorro, he’s also an outstanding singer (just check out his version of Phantom of the Opera’s Music of the Night with Sarah Brightman). He was nominated for an Academy Award and his career as a producer and director also received quite the recognition from film critics. And now the Spanish actor is even a fashion designer!
Banderas showed off his collaboration with Selected, the Scandinavian clothing label, and the fashion line this partnership has produced. The line in question is Banderas’ first look into fashion and it’s a selection of an autumn collection divided into a total of 3 sections. According to Antonio’s own words, the fashion line’s sections consist of vintage, tailoring and indigo and they reflect the actor’s life in some ways. The actor claims that the three sections of his new line combine his own fashion style – the casual, the elegant and the black-tie-formal parts into a single line. The ocean blue color scheme is the main hue in his clothing line, which represents his Spanish roots. The collection features 30 clothing items like jeans, cardigans, blazers, chinos and more. Leather, cashmere and wool are some of the main materials used in the line.
Strangely enough, the clothing line wasn’t just some form of a celebrity whim. In fact, Banderas has been studying fashion at the Central Saint Martins college of the University of Arts in London, UK. Some of the other famous alumni of Central Saint Martins in the fashion industry are Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Zac Posen, Stella McCartney, Riccardo Tisci, and Sarah Burton.
