Have you ever had the craving to spend your fortune on a trip to Dubai, but were afraid of the boiling temperatures of the United Arab Emirates? Worry no more, since there’s a ground-breaking futuristic solution coming to your rescue!
Dubai Holding, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the current ruler of Dubai, presented a new project during a press conference that was held in the emirate earlier this July. The project, called Mall of the World, will be a futuristic climate-controlled complex of 48 million square foot. It will house a hundred hotels, indoor park, spa and wellness resorts, theaters and apartment buildings. Full to capacity, complex would be able to hold more than 180 million people. None of the above is as impressive as the fact that the whole City, as the Sheikh calls it, will be temperature-controlled by humans. That’s right; forget about the 45 C degrees summers! The complex will be shielded by a glass dome during the summer season and will be uncovered during the winter.
The construction will be costing $680 million per year – over 10 years!
