Sir Anthony Hopkins, the 75 year old Welsh actor who made it huge in Hollywood thanks to his notorious role as Hannibal Lector, has many talents. One of them is complete equanimity when it comes to scaring the brains out of homeless people.
In the not so distant 2002 the Oscar winning actor had problems with alcohol dependency and the director of the Los Angeles-based homeless charity organization Midnight Mission convinced Hopkins to take participation in the charity as taking part in his recovery from alcoholism. Hopkins, of course, agreed to it, and he sure found it beneficial later.
Clancy Imislund, the director of the organization, revealed in an interview that Hopkins played a merciless joke on a group of homeless men during a screening of Silence of the Lambs. While the homeless people were enjoying the film night, the actor was waiting for the right moment to put on the creepy Hannibal act. At the end of the screening, he tapped few people on their shoulders and whispered to them “Hello” in his terrifying Hannibal voice. And he loved it!
