Dylan O’Brien, famous for his roles in Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner, got accidentally hit by a car on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure and he got injured so badly that the production of the movie is shutting down temporarily.
The 24 year old actor and his co-stars were filming the third installment in the franchise based on the Dystopian book series written by James Dashner when a nasty incident occurred on the set. O’Brien and the rest of the cast and crew had just launched the principal photography of the movie 4 days before the incident in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. On the 18th of March the star was hit by a moving vehicle during the filming and was injured badly. The actor was immediately rushed into a hospital for examination of the injuries. While some reports claim that Dylan allegedly suffered some fractures in the bones of his face, the crew reported that the injuries he suffered weren’t life-threatening. James Dashner himself took matters to Twitter to explain that the production of the third and final installment in The Maze Runner franchise will be temporarily shot down until O’Brien fully recovers.
The 24 year old star and his co-stars Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Will Poulter, Patricia Clarkson and Katherine McNamara are joining forces for one last time after the director Wes Ball stated that he won’t split The Maze Runner: The Death Cure into two movies – a common practice for other young adult Hollywood productions. The movie is set to premiere worldwide in late February 2017, but with the production being shut down for an undisclosed period of time, the team might not make the deadlines.
