Two British teenagers enraged a lot of people by creating Halloween costumes that were simply outrageous.
Amber Langford and Annie Collinge, both 19 years old, showed up at the Halloween party held in a night club in Chester, UK dressed up as the burning Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. They were both representing the horrific terrorist attacks from 9/11/01 in New York.
Their costumes were so descriptive that they even featured the burning planes and people jumping off the buildings. What is more, they even had hats featuring the wreckage the planes caused and US flags on top of them.
By showing up dressed like that in the nightclub the two students enraged the families of the victims as well as many other people concerned in any way with the tragic events. A lot of media outburst followed and the discovery that one of the girls’ father was actually a pilot working for the US airlines brought even more negative tension to the matter.
In addition to the insanely distasteful costumes both teenage students wore, they also won the prize for “best Halloween costume” as well as the sum of $250.
