Dawn Harkins, a mum from UK, was able to snatch the incredible prize of approximately $125,000 from the TV show “Who wants to be a Millionaire?”. Although she did not become a millionaire Dawn got more than she could possibly dream of.
As soon as she received the prize money, Dawn hopped on an airplane to Australia. A flight that she could never afford prior to winning the famous TV quiz game. She wanted to go to Brisbane, Australia in order to meet with her long lost son.
Back in 1967, when she was 15 years old, Dawn had a baby boy. Unfortunately, she was forced to give him away for adoption. Even though she didn’t see him for over 45 years, Dawn always kept the painful memory of her firstborn. She later got married and had two other children.
Eventually, her 41 year-old-daughter Samantha was able to track down her mother’s firstborn child. She located him in Australia and discovered his name was Glyn. He got adopted by a family that emigrated to Australia when he was a teenager. When Dawn contacted Glyn and told him all about her lucky winnings and how she could be able to visit him in Australia, he was thrilled to be able to see his birth mother.
Dawn’s intense game show experience brought her the unique prize of meeting her long-lost child whom she thought she would never see again.
