Probably many of us have really wanted something, for example the new iPhone, an item from a sample sale, but getting up in the middle of the night to stand in line for hours doesn’t sound like a very enjoyable thing to do. Now there is a solution which one rather creative man has turned into a business.
New Yorker Robert Samuel came up with his idea after trading off two spots in a line for the iPhone 5 launch several months ago. He made $325 for those spots and realized there could be more. According to Robert the phenomenon is called FOMO – fear of missing out – and it makes you want things that might be hard to get.
But Robert can make it happen for you – he takes a spot in the line as early as you want him to, prepared with a lawn chair, an umbrella, two iPhones, iPad mini and a portable charger. All you need to do is pay him so you can get there at the previously arranged hour and claim your spot. Robert’s business idea has worked out so well that now he has hired other ‘professional waiters’ to work for him and so far new clients keep coming.
