The 34 year old actress used to be a waitress in New York for a while before her acting and stand-up comedy careers took off, so she knows how stressful it can be when you’re working as a bartender while trying to break into acting. Thus, she decided to leave a $1,000 to those people to whom she can relate the most.

Amy, her boyfriend, furniture designer Ben Hanisch, and some friends went to see the super successful musical Hamilton. The actress spent some time with her entourage at the theater’s bar and she was so pleased by the staff that she rewarded them for their hard work. The 34 year old stand-up comedian left a $1,000 tip to the baristas in an attempt to show them that hard work pays off. After all, she knows it first-hand!

Ever since 2014 Schumer has received tons of awards and nominations, including Teen Choice Awards, People’s Choice Award, Writers Guild of America Award, Emmy Award, and so on. Her romantic comedy Trainwreck got nominated for a WGA Award in the Best Original Screenplay category and for two Golden Globe Awards.
