Dong Nguyen, the Vietnamese creator of Flappy Bird, took down the hit game from Google Play and Apple iTunes stores. Nguyen publicly claimed that he now hates his creation after the game ruined his simple lifestyle. And while the news of Flappy Bird being taken down has saddened many fans, some eBay users have taken advantage of the newfound gap in the market.
Numerous iPhones with installed Flappy Bird are being put on sale on eBay for those who are dying to play the popular game, but can’t download it anymore. Since their only option is to seek a device which already has Flappy Bird installed, they are willing to bid cosmic amounts of money on it. For example, one particular iPhone got $90,000 in bids in less than few hours. Other smartphones with Flappy Bird are also offered on eBay, but for much less money.
The hit game’s aim is to levitate a bird through a landscape of pipes. According to official counts, it has been downloaded by more than 50 million users worldwide.
