Kanye West, the American rapper and record producer, gained huge recognition back in 2001 after working on Jay-Z’s album Blueprint. Ever since then he’s been making a name for himself in the hip hop industry. But did you know that he had to serve coffee to Fendi’s employers long after he became famous?
Back in 2009 the singer moved to Rome where he enrolled in Fendi’s intern program for entry-level interns. It might seem hard to believe, but Kanye was obliged to make coffee runs for other employees since his work at the fashion label required him to deliver cappuccinos. Kanye himself admitted it, at least according to DBTechno. Two years after he enrolled in the program the rapper held his very first fashion show in Paris. During the following year’s Paris Fashion Week the guest list to Kanye’s second show included Vogue’s notorious Anna Wintour, Alicia Keys and Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy.
Unfortunately, Kanye’s second show left him embarrassed after fashion critics labeled his line as a copy of Tisci’s work.
